Editing your new WordPress site

Getting started

We’ve put it here to give you a feel for how easy it is to modify the contents of the web site we have developer for you. This is a very simple WordPress Developer’s guide for newbies using our WordPress platform who can already use a word processor or write emails. You should have received the full guide in our “Welcome to WordPress” Guide

  1. Sign in to WordPress using the address you are given e.g. www.yoursite.co.uk/wp-login.php and your username and password. You should then see something like this page. Note the blue arrow.

If you hover over the page names then a sub-menu will appear as can be seen in “Contact us” above. To edit a WordPress page simply click on the Page name or the sub-menu option “Edit” NOT “Quick Edit.” The other options are obvious.

When in doubt use the back button to get back to the last step. WordPress auto saves earlier versions of your WordPress web page which you should be able to get back to.
